Woodland Cottage

A charming cottage at Greenbank, Cartmel, Cumbria. It is easily accessible from outside the Lake District with magnificent views over the surrounding Fells, and of the sea, 3 miles away. Shops and other facilities are available a mile away in Cartmel.

Refurbished, fully equipped and very comfortable, centrally heated accommodation with open fireplace and an extensive walled garden, an ideal location all the year round as the area benefits from the mild climate generated by the Gulf Stream.

Woodland Cottage sleeps 4 - one double and one twin bedded room - and has a fully-fitted kitchen and bathroom with shower over a full-sized bath. There's a utility room with natural drying facilities along with a washer-drier. A cot and highchair are available on request. WiFi is available from February 2013.

Offering beautiful valley views, this cosy cottage is set on its own in farm land on a very quiet route in restful countryside. The cottage is 400 yards from the owners' home.

Walks to Cartmel village (1 mile) and Holker Hall (3 miles), well known for its gardens, are set in lakeland scenery. Walking further up the valley one finds grandstand views of the Lakeland Fells. Cartmel, known for its old world appeal, is built around an ancient Priory. Although quite small, it boasts race course, pubs and restaurants including L'Enclume with its 2 Michelin stars, and many shops including the famous Sticky Toffee Pudding shop. There's even a speciality cheese shop and a bakery. The many attractions of this lovely area are within an easy drive. Golf and riding locally, as well as the well-known Motor Museum which now on the old Blue factory site at Backbarrow. Grange-over-Sands, a Victorian resort 3 miles to the south-east, has more facilities. To the North are the main Lakes within easy driving distance, with the Windermere Steamers leaving from Lakeside, which itself can be reached from nearby Haverthwaite using the Haverthwaite steam railway.
